There is a proven link between regular attendance and achievement. This is why we remind the students constantly of the importance of regular attendance and punctuality.

We also keep a watchful eye on attendance and try to communicate early with parents or guardians in the event of patterns of non-attendance.

“There are thorough procedures for monitoring attendance, including input from form tutors, heads of year, the senior leadership team and office staff. Good attendance is recognised and rewarded”.

Pupils must arrive promptly at all lessons. They should also arrive at Registration by 8:25am prompt. In the event of a bus arriving late, the pupils must sign the late book at the main reception.

Parents or guardians are asked to write a letter to the school, addressed to the Form Tutor, explaining why the student has been absent from school, however brief the period. Please send the letter on the first day the student returns to school. Should the absence last longer than two days, the pupil’s parents or guardians should contact the school by phone in order to discuss the matter with the appropriate Head of Year. Failure to produce written explanation will result in and unauthorised absence being recorded in the register.
